Piece of Finland Tupa
The story behind the design:
The living room of a cottage has traditionally been the heart of the Finnish home. Within its log walls celebrations, as well as sadder events, are carried out. Common meals and resting times, craft making etc. have given each room its very own kind of spirit. Many cottages have even served as sort of taverns for tired travellers, even if penniless. This tradition is alive and well in cottages where hospitality and helping one’s neighbour are still valued. The logs may have been replaced by prefabricated wooden panels but the spirit of the cottage remains.
